Bleeding can occur up to 2-3 weeks after snare resection. Risk factors include age, hypertension, large polyp, thick stalk, and location on the right side. He has all the risk factors and he lives 200 miles away. To prevent delayed complications, we applied clips.
Why are you adding so many clips? The site wasn’t bleeding profusely; it seemed also that the polyp wasn’t snared low enough. Why not snare it, then just cauterize the crap out of it to prevent excessive hemorrhaging?

I routinely use a cap on all my colonoscopies; it helps to examine behind folds and also in placing clips as the cap helps to deflect the clips.
