Cheers. Sorry, the YT system had automatically flagged your comment as SPAM so I never got a notification for it.

You will NOT feel better right away. In fact, in the first couple of days, especially when taking the drug for anxiety, you may actually feel worse. If that happens DO NOT just give up, but go back to your doctor and let him or her help you manage your way through this temporary effect, until your mood stabilizes. It can take a couple of weeks, so don’t get despondent, and the beneficial effects are subtle so you might think it’s doing “nothing” even while things imperceptibly improve.

just got prescribed the drug today (for anxiety/panic attacks). I’ve been trying to change my life around by getting sober, thinking positive, exercise, etc. last time I went to the doctor I was prescribed paxil but I stop taking it cause I didn’t feel any better right away. never went back to the doctor cause I was embarrassed. but I’m gonna give this pill a try and stick to it. kinda worried about the dizziness you talked about. good video man

thank you very much. you explain perfectly what depression is about, and as far as I can tell, my experience with lexapro has been pretty much the same as yours. my advice is to leave the drug at the slowest possible pace. if you feel weird, remember it´s just a phase.

But all in all i got very depressed. in 2005 my doctor put me on lexapro because the depression got so bad that i was getting suicidal thoughts because i was lonely. The lexapro helped get rid of the suicidal thoughts but i noticed i was becomeing paranoid thinking people were always talking about me or out to get me, and sometimes easily aggitated. Im starting the weening process of getting off lexapro and the side effects are killer. dizzy spells, get mad easily, and constant headaches

Im subscribed to you now. what you talked about is similar to what i have gone through and hearing you talked helped me understand a little better, “Am i the only one feeling the way I do?”. I had kidney failure when i was 17. when my friends where out at parties meeting girls and drinking, i was straped to a dialysis machine feeling sick everyday. Eventually my mom gave me a transplant a year later which made me alot better.

Antidepressants have different effects on people. Same as alcohol, some drunks get happy, some sad, some get violent, others get frisky and talkative. Even a peanut, some can eat peanuts, some can die from eating a single peanut.

I agree 100%. I’m on Lexapro (Cipralex in Sweden) and I LOVE it. My panic attacks are now history. I’ve never felt better! :D Happy days!
