You have to do what You need to do, just wanted to share my expierience, but this does happen, Dr’s don’t want You to know about it. Good Luck.
Oh great like I needed to read your comment..I’m suppose to have my first one done in 3 weeks..
A friend of mine and myself had Colonoscopy Appts around the same time, he went first (about a month before mine), two weeks later he was dead, had absolutely nothing wrong with him, but they perforated his Colon and he died, I cancelled my appt and have not thought about it again.
On the video end….thank u so much ….I let my hubby watch your vid…..he is going for his first one Friday and is very nervous abt the whole thing!
Yes, really good. I have written a blog on my two colonoscopies on WordPress. “Bowel Cancer – you can avoid it” Hope this helps people too. In Britain the prep. is slightly different but all the rest exactly the same. I’d say to anyone not to worry as it isn’t anything like you would imagine. Just get it done
I have to make an appointment to see my GP so she can go over my Meds & start the referral process. I’m over 50 & lost my Mom to Pancreatic Cancer & my Uncle, her Brother to Colon Cancer. Not worried about the actual procedure, not looking forward to the Prep.
Just know that your prep may be different than what others have gone through. Depends on your gastro doc and how he likes to ‘cleanse’ you. Getting mine done June 5th (soon) due to a lot of abdominal pain, and my prep I take 4 Ducolax tabs at 3 PM. Then one 32 oz with Miralax mixture at 5 PM, then another at 11 PM. No solid food, nothing red or purple, light breakfast, but nothing past midnight. Mostly liquid diet day prior.
i did mine about 5 months and most cases are simply hemroids that have the same affects as cancer but concern us all… im not saying all will come out on a positive side but will get you on the rite path to getting better and ease of mind.. god bless
please do not be afraid of the colonoscopy procedure.it is so much better with the ease of knowing the results.. it is a very quick and painless in my experience if you are having the symptoms plz get checked asap i promise youll live a happier life than wondering
Thanks for your video. I have my consultation on Wednesday and will be scheduling my colonoscopy soon. I had one done five years ago and was wondering if the prep had changed and it looks like it is the same as when I had to prepare for the last one, according to your video. It really is not so bad…..drinking the mixture is very filling!! to say the least.
Hi,I saw your post on the colonoscopy video.I was browsing for a video to get some comfort.I have one sceduled in about 6 hours from now.Having to fast for a day and a half and taking laxatives in preperation is the uncomfortable part so far.Like you,I hate the hospital and don’t go to the doctor unless it is needed. My aunt told me that it didn’t hurt when she had one.I’m not much older than you,32.When mine is over I’ll let you know how it went to hopefully ease your mind some.Peace.
Mine is sceduled for today at 10:00am.It’s 4:00 right now.I was going to sleep, but when I try I feel my stomache rumbling and have to run to the bathroom on account of the laxatives that I’ve been told to take all day yesterday. My aunt has had a colonoscopy done years ago and said that it’s not bad at all,but I still want to be knocked out cold.
Thank you for the video. I’m terrified I have mine in a few weeks im 21 and am extremely hospital phobic I’m so scared it will hurt.
After my colonoscopy, in recovery, when I awoke, I asked the nurse why she hung around so much…she said she is the “FART NURSE” and if you don’t fart, a lot, that’s not good, so go ahead and let it rip!
I can still laugh about it…now…all I can say is GO FOR IT…get it done…it saves lives!
You are adorable.
I have my first procedure this coming week and you certainly helped me to feel much more relaxed about it. Thank you for taking the time to video tape this process and for sharing such a personal experience with us all. God Bless.
This is exactly what i was looking for.
God bless you. I have been terrified for week about my upcoming procedure. I’m 42. My father died of colon cancer at 54. Doc’s say I must go now due to my family history. Your video set my mind at ease and I see now I don’t have to be so terrified. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You are an excellent teacher, Priscilla, and your presentation was very reassuring. I am not looking forward to the prep, because of all of the comments I have seen, but you seemed to cope– I hope you’re healthy. Thanks.
